Fundraiser to be Held at Cerro Coso,

After 3 year hiatus, Wildcare promises corvid meet-and-greet prizes for donations

Wildcare Eastern Sierra is excited to announce that the wildlife rehabilitation center will hold its fundraiser, Wild Spirits, for the first time since November 2019.

The event will be held at Cerro Coso Community College, 4090 W. Line St., Bishop on Sunday, April 2 from 6-8 p.m.

The organization’s first fundraisers were held by Eastern Sierra Wildlife Care at Galen Rowell’s Mountain Light Gallery and was later moved to the Eastern Sierra Tri-county Fairgrounds.

For the last three years, however, the Wild Spirits events were cancelled due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.

This spring was the first opportunity for Wildcare to hold Wild Spirits once more, and Cerro Coso Community College has provided a new and different location in which to celebrate the work of Eastern Sierra’s wildlife rehabilitation facility.

The event, for a $15 donation, will feature door prizes as well as some of the center’s education animals – Razzle, Spirit and

Bullitt, Harvey the milksnake and Ms. Walter the pigeon. There also will be free food and a variety of silent auction items on which participants can bid.

Beer, wine, fruit juice and soda will be served free.

Toward the end of the program, auction bid winners will be announced. Summer intern: Wildcare staff is seeking to fill its paid summer intern position that requires 24 hours a week. The intern will learn examination, care and feeding for incoming young birds (some just out of the egg) and young mammals growing fur and teeth.
