September 13

An officer stopped on Old Mammoth Road because they had been contacted about a noise complaint on that road.

Someone called police to report another person had been inside their home. The reporting person said the house had been vandalized and they thought their birth certificate and social security card had been taken.

Someone called police to report someone who might want to harm themselves. The reporting person said they noticed an upset person and when they stopped to see if they needed help, the person said “I don’t want to be here anymore, leave me alone, I want to kill myself.”

September 14

Someone called to report a woman passed out behind a business on Main Street. The reporting person also noted they saw two men “bothering” the passed-out woman.

An officer responded to a disturbance involving a physical altercation.

Someone called to report an aggressive dog. The reporting person said the dog has always acted aggressive when they walked by, but at the time of the call, the dog was outside and off leash and charged at the reporting person.

A store employee called to report an incident with customers refusing to wear masks. The reporting person said the customers were refused service for not complying with the mask requirement and asked to leave. The unmasked customers were refusing to leave the business.

A nurse from South Lake Tahoe reported she had a patient who said she been raped in Mammoth Lakes by a man she was traveling with.

She said both the man and the woman were evacuees from the Caldor Fire at the time of the reported rape.

Someone called to report a person using a chainsaw on a downed tree on Minaret Road. The reporting person said a man and woman driving a gray Lexus parked on the bike path while they were cutting up an old tree. The reporting person was concerned about fire danger due to the sparks that might come from the chainsaw.

September 15

Someone called to report their laundry at a laundry machine located on Old Mammoth Road had been stolen. The reporting person said they were using the machines, and when they went to transfer their clothes 30 minutes later, they were gone. The reporting person was instructed to go to the Mammoth Lakes Police Department website to file a report online.

September 16

Someone called to report a dozen ‘Formula One’ type cars racing on Main Street headed toward the mountain.

Someone called to report a woman driving a white Jeep had parked, exited the vehicle and began to urinate in the reporting person’s yard.

September 17

Someone called to report they were hearing noises coming from their garage. The reporting person said the garage door had been left open and it sounded as though something had gotten in.

Someone called to report a vegetation fire across from Volcom Brothers Skate park.

Someone called to report a bear inside their home. The reporting person said they were locked in their room at the time of the call because they were afraid to go out of the room.

Medical aid was called for a man who had been stabbed in the neck with a glass bottle during a musical performance. The reporting person said the man was breathing and conscious at the time of the call.

September 18

Someone called to report a bear was stuck inside of their silver Toyota Corolla. The bear had been stuck in the car for several hours and damaged the inside of the car significantly. Police responded and let the bear out of the car.

A local business owner at the Vons mall area called to report they had found property left inside their business. The reporting person said the bag had been left inside the store and would like to turn it into the police station.

An employee from a business called to report an intoxicated customer. The reporting employee stated the customer was drunk and was crawling around on the ground near the entrance to the business.

Someone called to report a man and woman fighting at a bus stop near Salsa’s Taqueria. The reporting person is requesting they be able to retrieve a backpack from a residence.

Someone called to report they saw a man near a bus stop throwing orange cones into the road.

Someone called to report their neighbors were drug dealers and they said they had proof.

Medical assistance was called for a man who had fallen and hit his head. The reporting person said they were unsure if the man was breathing and they told police someone was doing CPR.

September 19

Someone called to report a couple of campfires seen at the Coldwater Campground. The reporting person noted the fires were inside fire rings.

Someone called to report an issue with a hotel guest. The reporting person said the hotel had lost power and a guest was very upset and was yelling at the hotel staff.

Someone called to report a hit and run that had happened during the previous night. The reporting person said there was a lot of damage done to the front passenger side of their vehicle.

Someone called to file a report for harassment. The reporting person said they had purchased a gemstone and discovered it was fake and they were attempting to get their money back. The seller has been harassing the reporting person and has gone as far as posting pictures of the reporting person and their family on Facebook, the reporting person said. He said he lived in Mammoth half of the year and was in Mammoth when the sale occurred.

Someone called to report a dog left inside a car. The reporting person said they had passed by the car twice during the day, once in the morning and again later in the afternoon, and the dog was inside the vehicle at both times.

Someone called to report a bear in a tree on Chaparral Road. The reporting person said there were three kids who kept scaring the bear back up the tree when it attempted to climb down to its two cubs.
