Local writer posts editorial in Washington Post on wildfire
Swall Meadows writer Kendra Atleework, author of ‘Miracle Country, a Memoir of Family and a Landscape,’ was published in the Washington Post on the last day of summer, Sept. 21, 2021. Her article, ‘Wildfires are changing California forever and making it harder to see a future here.”
It outlines the fear and worry that the state is becoming unlivable in some ways due to the extreme wildfires sweeping through the state every summer and fall and the intimate nature of the grief that comes with the loss of places that generations of families have loved and cared for almost overnight, with little to no hope it will get better.
